Downtown Gallery Hop
Visit the Discovery North Bay Museum on Friday, May 17 from 6:30 - 9:30pm as part of the Downtown Gallery Hop. Opening receptions will be held for our current temporary exhibits -- 'Grey Owl: An Environmental Legacy' and the Northern Ontario Art Association: 56th Annual Exhibition.

From April 6-17th, 2013 the Discovery North Bay Museum held an display by the local rug hooking guild

Tracking Connections Along the Ontario Northland Railway
From January 5 - March 31, 2013 the museum hosted an exhibit featuring artwork from the Ontario Northland Art Collection.
The exhibit featured artwork created throughout Northern Ontario and the Canadian Arctic, focusing on the role of the Ontario Northland Railway in connecting Northern Ontario.
In addition, historic photos from Ontario Northland train stations and offices and artifacts related to the Ontario Northland from Discovery North Bay Museum’s collection were also on display.

First Annual Winter Reception - February 2013
Thank you to everyone who joined Discovery North Bay for our First Annual Winter Reception.
The event will took place at the Museum where 'Tracking Connections Along the Ontario Northland Railway', our art and history exhibit, was on display. The featured music for the evening was provided by Twilight, a local jazz band featuring Neil Kennedy.

Family Day & March Break Scavenger Hunt
The Museum was open on Family Day (Monday, February 18, 2013), and during March Break for a railway themed family Scavenger Hunt. Kids had the chance to find objects in the Museum and won a special prize.
Festival of Trees & Chili Cook-off - December 2012
The museum offered free admission during the Downtown Christmas Walk on November 30th; we also held our 2nd Annual 'Festival of Trees'. This year we partnered with CIBC Run for the Cure to auction off 12 Christmas trees sponsored by local businesses.
We also offered chili served up by the North Bay Firefighters from competing North Bay Restaurants.

'The Souter Suitcase' Exhibit
The museum was given a suitcase as a donation about a year ago, which belonged to Alexander Carr Souter. The suitcase was filled with letters, a diary, medals and even a uniform that told the story of a young North Bay man who died in the First World War, leaving behind a wife and three-year-old son. It was a suitcase full of more than history - it was a suitcase that told the tale of a life. The discovery of the suitcase led to the temporary exhibit 'The Souter Suitcase'; which was on display in the Museum from July - November 2012.
Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II Exhibit - Summer 2012
The Museum celebrated the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in the summer of 2012. This exhibit celebrated her 60-year reign, and displayed photographs of her visits to North Bay, and private Royal Memorabilia collections of North Bay citizens.
